ASTM International Committee C15 on Manufactured Masonry Units has presented the Gilbert C. Robinson Memorial Award to J. Gregg Borchelt, vice president of engineering and research at the Brick Industry Association in Reston, Va., for his contributions to exceptional technical contributions that assist Committee C15 in its work and that advance the state of the art within the scope of the committee.

He started his career as a technical service engineer at Dow Chemical Co., and went on to hold executive positions at Masonry Systems International and the Texas Masonry Institute before joining the Brick Industry Association in 1988. He assumed his current title in 1997, and was recently named interim president and chief executive officer of BIA.
